About the company

For a national healthcare organisation we are looking for a Head of IT Support who is not only responsible for day-to-day IT services, but also sets the direction for the further development and professionalisation of IT support. You will join a growing national healthcare organisation with multiple locations, where IT plays an important role in the continuity of daily services.

Job description

In this role you are ultimately responsible for IT support across an organisation with multiple locations throughout the Netherlands. You lead the internal IT support team, manage an external IT partner and make sure employees can rely on a stable and secure IT environment.

The organisation is in a phase of change and further professionalisation. This gives you the opportunity to reshape the IT support organisation, critically assess existing ways of working and set a clear course for the future.

This is a strategic management position with direct involvement of the board and plenty of room for your own initiative. You lead an independently operating IT support team and work with an external IT partner. The focus is on leadership, strategy and improving the service, not on handling support tickets yourself.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing an IT support strategy with clear priorities and improvement projects
  • Leading, coaching and further developing the internal IT support team
  • Managing external IT partners and suppliers, including SLAs, contracts and escalations
  • Improving and standardising IT processes and infrastructure across locations
  • Safeguarding the continuity, quality and information security of IT services
  • Initiating and guiding improvement projects and IT integrations for new sites and acquisitions
  • Advising the board and management on IT strategy, technical choices and investments
  • Coordinating the response to major IT disruptions and ensuring structural improvements
  • Working with internal stakeholders to align IT services with the needs of the organisation

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare IT, combined with management experience in IT operations or IT support
  • Proven experience as an accountable manager, including people management, strategic decision-making and team development
  • Experience with healthcare information systems, preferably in complex care environments
  • Good technical knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, workplace management and network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN and Wi-Fi
  • Experience developing and executing an IT strategy
  • Able to assess technical issues independently and make strategic decisions
  • Experience improving and standardising IT processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience advising management and the board
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language

What we offer

  • An above-average salary package that matches your experience and responsibilities
  • 40 hours per week
  • Permanent employment
  • Laptop and phone
  • Lease car with fuel card
  • Based in the Central Netherlands region, working five days a week at different locations
  • Direct collaboration with management and the board
  • Plenty of room to shape the IT support strategy and further professionalisation
  • An organisation with short lines of communication and fast decision-making
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to the further growth and development of the organisation
