Job description
As a Medior Cloud / Site Reliability Engineer (32-40 hours) you are responsible for setting up, monitoring and maintaining the cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You work in a close-knit, compact team on stable, scalable and cost-conscious systems with high uptime (99.99%). You automate deployments with modern tooling (such as Kubernetes and Terraform), set up CI/CD pipelines and work closely with development teams to support cloud-native applications. You also take part, for an appropriate allowance, in an on-call rota for incidents outside office hours.
Responsibilities
- Setting up infrastructure as code (IaC) with Kubernetes and Terraform, and building and managing CI/CD pipelines (including GitHub Actions and ArgoCD).
- Actively monitoring performance, setting up dashboards, analysing metrics and implementing cost savings.
- Carrying out thorough root-cause analyses of incidents and implementing structural improvements.
- Securing the environment through IAM policies, secrets management and maintaining Linux systems and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Working with developers to keep cloud-native applications running efficiently and reliably.
Qualifications
- At least bachelor's level of thinking, with at least 3 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer or SRE.
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), containerisation (Kubernetes), Linux and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- Knowledge of networking, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tooling and preferably service meshes.
- A flexible, solution-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent command of Dutch and good English.
