Job description
As a Senior Cloud / Site Reliability Engineer (32-40 hours) you are a driving force behind the stability, scalability and further professionalisation of the cloud platform (GCP). Within a compact and growing team of specialists you focus not only on technology, but above all on the processes around implementation, cost control and architecture. You safeguard high availability, set up structural improvement programmes and act as a technical mentor for medior and junior team members. You also take part, for an appropriate allowance, in an on-call rota.
Responsibilities
- Further developing, securing and scaling the cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a focus on maximum uptime.
- Setting up efficient deployment and operations processes, monitoring cloud costs (FinOps) and translating business goals into technical choices.
- Monitoring and analysing system performance with modern observability and service mesh tooling.
- Managing and optimising Linux environments and various relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Guiding fellow engineers, promoting best practices and working closely with other development teams on site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's level of thinking with at least 5 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, DevOps or SRE.
- In-depth knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes), Linux systems, networking concepts and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), modern monitoring tools and preferably service meshes.
- Proven experience guiding colleagues technically and structuring development and operations processes in an agile environment.
- Excellent command of Dutch and good English.
