About the company

Our client is a leading scale-up in the Randstad, specialising in smart consumer technology and energy solutions. With innovative, connected devices they help hundreds of thousands of households across Europe gain insight into and control over their energy use.

All disciplines are developed under one roof. The company culture is informal, ambitious and down-to-earth, with short lines of communication, strong team spirit and plenty of room for technical depth and your own input.

Job description

As a Senior Hardware Engineer you carry technical end responsibility for the physical hardware of the product portfolio. You lay the foundation for new devices: you define the hardware architecture, design reliable schematics and PCBs, and make well-considered choices on components, performance and cost. You also streamline the development process, guide external manufacturing partners in the transition to mass production, oversee European certifications and coach fellow engineers within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Defining hardware architectures and designing schematics and multilayer PCBs for new consumer electronics.
  • Making sharp trade-offs between performance, cost price and availability.
  • Refining the interplay between RF circuits, antennas, power management and microcontrollers.
  • Guiding the transition from prototype to series production with contract manufacturers (DFM, DFT, test lines and yield).
  • Independently handling and managing European certification processes (such as CE and RED).
  • Structuring the development process, dividing work and acting as a mentor for team members.

Qualifications

  • A completed bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Embedded Systems.
  • Several years of experience independently designing, testing and industrialising electronics and PCBs.
  • Solid knowledge of wireless connectivity (RF), measurement equipment and embedded microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience with production standards, test set-ups and working with external assembly lines.
  • Familiar with formal certification processes (CE/RED).
  • Good command of Dutch and English.

What we offer

  • Profit-sharing scheme, pension, 25 days of holiday and 8% holiday allowance.
  • Travel allowance and all the IT and test facilities you need.
  • Plenty of opportunity for innovation and technical depth.
  • An informal office: shared lunches every day, a game room, snacks and regular team outings and drinks.
  • A gross monthly salary between €4,500 and €5,500.
