About the company

For a fast-growing tech company with in-house product development in the west of the Netherlands, we are looking for a Team Lead Hardware & Embedded to strengthen the engineering team.

Job description

The team builds consumer products used in large numbers across Europe. That means you work from first concept to series production, together with external manufacturing partners. You help shape the architecture, safeguard quality standards and make sure planning and capacity add up. You stay close to the product, contributing to electronics, PCB design and firmware. At the same time you have a lot of influence on how the team works and grows. The company is scaling fast, so there is room to shape processes your way and expand your own team.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching, leading and growing the team day to day
  • Contributing technically to complex design questions in electronics, PCB design and firmware
  • Monitoring planning, capacity, quality and progress of ongoing development projects
  • Acting as the link between engineering, product management and other stakeholders
  • Continuously improving processes and fostering an open, collaborative team culture
  • Guiding product development from concept to mass production, together with external partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems or a comparable technical field
  • At least 8 years of experience in a technical engineering or R&D environment
  • At least 3 years of experience as a manager or people manager
  • Enough technical depth to spar with experienced engineers
  • Coaching and communication skills, also in a fast-growing environment
  • Excellent Dutch and good English
  • Living within commuting distance of the region and willing to work on site
  • Nice to have: experience in consumer electronics or the IoT sector
  • Nice to have: a practical background in PCB design or firmware development (for example C/C++ and low-power microcontrollers with wireless connectivity)

What we offer

  • 32 to 40 hours per week with the prospect of a permanent position and growth opportunities.
  • A gross monthly salary between €5,500 and €6,500.
  • Profit-sharing scheme, pension and 8% holiday allowance (25 days of holiday, with the option to buy more).
  • Travel allowance, training budget and laptop.
